CAMP KATY STORY

Camp Katy was born in 2004 from the desire to bridge the gap between what schools are teaching our children about technology, and what they will need to succeed in the real world. It is the brain child of local Katy native and business owner Amber Strickland, a 15 year vereran in the computer and technology industry in the Houston-Katy area.

While researching local and national summer camps for their 3 children, Amber and her husband Shawn were put off by the overpriced, "web-tutorial" teaching style camps they found. Knowing they had more to offer their children than these large nationally owned and operated summer programs, the idea for Camp Katy quickly became a reality.

Camp Katy began with one camp a week, with Amber at the head of the class teaching computer basics, digital photography and computer building. Now, 6 years later, Camp Katy has expanded to include 6 individual classes per week and offers extended education to nearly 500 children by summers end.

This summer, Camp Katy will open its doors to more families than ever before. We hope you join us for one (or many) fun filled, technology packed weeks at Camp Katy.

SESSION OVERVIEW

Camp Katy provides week-long day technology camps for students aged 5-17. Students may register for one, or multiple weeks at a time. All of our hand-selected staff is hired with industry knowledge in their subjects, and are trained and certified in-house to work with children with autism and mild ADD. Each summer camp season is loaded with brand new, up to date, real-world curriculum and technology inspired by the biggest technology brands on the market. • 2012 Classes run weekly from June 4-August 17
• Camp is open to boys and girls ages 5-17 by camp start
• Classes are 9am - 4pm, Monday through Friday
• Camp is open from 7am - 6pm to allow for early drop offs and late pick ups at no additional cost to you.
• Most classes are $495 per week. (Tuition cost includes deposit)
• Tuition Exceptions: Junior Camper $195/wk, Games Only $175/wk, RPG Academy $799/2wks
  & Film Festival 2-Week Overnight Academy $2,999/student
• We are one of the only local camps that allow campers to reserve their spot by a non-refundable deposit. Deposits are $100 per week/session and are factored into your tuition cost. Deposits are NOT 'in addition to' your tuition cost.
• Deposit Exceptions: Games Only & Junior Camper Sessions $50 | RPG Academy $200 | Film Festival Sleepover Academy $500
• We offer affordable, interest free payment plans, or you can create your own during registration.
• Class tuition is due 2 weeks prior to your camp start date.
• Our snack bar is open during breaks, lunch time and before/after class time.  Most snacks/drinks are $1 and some are up to $2.50.  We don’t handle cash from our students but you can add money to your camper‘s store account.
• Campers must bring their own lunch. Campers are not allowed to leave during lunch without
  a parent. If you plan on picking up your child for lunch, please let the front counter know
  when you drop off.
